 About the project

The fore mast is now stepped and the process of installing its 10 shrouds has begun.  The lower deadeyes are screwed onto the brass rods which now serve as chainplates.  The rods pass through holes in the cap rail and the wale heading for the waterline.  The lower end of the chainplates are also threaded and screwed into a 3" piece of brass tubing (red arrow) the lower half of which has been flattened and drilled for two bolts that secure the chainplates to the hull.
