 About the project

Deadeye pairs are used to tighten standing rigging - the modern equivalent is turnbuckles.  Little Leon's are machined from aluminum and are 1" in diameter and about 5/8" thick.  The Marlboro Machine Shop in Rockaway, NJ did the lathe work and brought them to the stage of the lower pair in the picture.  Three holes are drilled (upper pair) using the wooden jig.
