 About the project

Just as we had to strengthen the lower deck to support the foremast we have to strengthen the main deck at the partners where the masts pass through the deck. Here we have cut 8 layers of ¼” plywood to laminate the 2” thick beam that will support the main mast. We have to use the thinner plywood because the main deck is curved. The ½” plywood that we used on the lower deck would have to be stressed too much to make the curve.
