 About the project

The main mast will go all the way down to the keel but the forward mast only drops down to the lower deck. As a result the lower deck has to be strengthened to support the forces that the forward mast will exert on it. This extra support takes the form of a 2” thick slab that runs from one side of the hull to the other filling the space between the two lower deck beams which straddle the forward mast. Here, two of the four ½” plywood laminations are being glued together.
